    Unsave EverythingWithout Losing Anything

There's no unsave-all button, and unsaved posts are gone from your list forever. Archive first, then clean up fearlessly.

The Two Facts to Know Before You Start

First: Reddit has no bulk unsave feature. The save button is per-post, so natively you'd be clicking unsave up to a thousand times. Second, and more important: unsaving is irreversible. Reddit keeps no record of what you once saved — the moment you unsave a post, it vanishes from your list with no undo and no history. Anyone cleaning out years of saves should treat this like emptying a filing cabinet into a shredder: fine, as long as you've photocopied what matters first.

    The Safe Cleanup Workflow

    1

    Archive everything before touching anything

Install Readdit Later from the Chrome Web Store and let it sync your saved posts. This captures the full accessible list — titles, content, subreddits, dates — into your own library, independent of Reddit's list. Now nothing you unsave on Reddit is actually lost.
For belt-and-suspenders safety, also run a CSV or JSON export after the sync. That file is yours forever, no extension required.
    2

Decide what the cleanup is for

If your goal is a tidy Reddit saved list, proceed to unsave on Reddit. If your goal is actually finding things again, consider whether you need to unsave at all — once your library lives in Readdit Later with search, labels, and collections, the state of Reddit's own list stops mattering.
    3

    Unsave on Reddit

Work through reddit.com/user/YOUR_USERNAME/saved and unsave items. On old Reddit (old.reddit.com/saved) the list is denser, which makes manual unsaving faster. It's tedious — Reddit provides no shortcut — but with your archive safe, you can also simply stop caring about the old list and let it be.
    4

Keep the library organized going forward

Inside Readdit Later, use bulk actions to label, archive, or delete posts from your library in batches — cleanup there takes minutes, not hours. With AI auto-categorization on, new saves file themselves, so the mess doesn't rebuild.
You'll find scripts online that mass-unsave via the Reddit API. They work, but understand the trade: they're irreversible at high speed, they require handling API credentials yourself, and aggressive automation can trip Reddit's rate limits. If you go that route, export a backup first — the archive-then-clean order matters regardless of the tool doing the cleaning.
