    The Two Facts to Know Before You Start

    First: Reddit has no bulk unsave feature. The save button is per-post, so natively you'd be clicking unsave up to a thousand times. Second, and more important: unsaving is irreversible. Reddit keeps no record of what you once saved — the moment you unsave a post, it vanishes from your list with no undo and no history. Anyone cleaning out years of saves should treat this like emptying a filing cabinet into a shredder: fine, as long as you've photocopied what matters first.

    Archive everything before touching anything

    Install Readdit Later from the Chrome Web Store and let it sync your saved posts. This captures the full accessible list — titles, content, subreddits, dates — into your own library, independent of Reddit's list. Now nothing you unsave on Reddit is actually lost.

    Unsave on Reddit

    Work through reddit.com/user/YOUR_USERNAME/saved and unsave items. On old Reddit (old.reddit.com/saved) the list is denser, which makes manual unsaving faster. It's tedious — Reddit provides no shortcut — but with your archive safe, you can also simply stop caring about the old list and let it be.

    A Note on Scripts and Automation
