Reddit Save Limit (1,000 Items)
The Reddit save limit is the platform's cap of 1,000 items returned by any listing — including your saved posts and comments. Older saves still exist in Reddit's database but can no longer be listed by any app or interface.
Why it exists
Reddit's listing endpoints cap at 1,000 items for performance reasons, and the cap applies platform-wide: saved, upvoted, hidden, and history lists all share it. It has been in place for many years and applies to every account.
What it means in practice
Once you cross 1,000 combined saves, your oldest items silently stop appearing, and the API offers no way to page past the cap. Two strategies work against it: continuous syncing, which captures each save into an external library before it falls out of the window, and capturing posts directly from Reddit's own saved page as it loads — the approach Readdit Later uses to recover saves the API can no longer list.
