Read-It-Later App
A read-it-later app saves web articles into a clean, distraction-free reading queue, often with offline access and highlights. Instapaper and Readwise Reader are the main current options; Pocket, formerly the category leader, was shut down by Mozilla in July 2025.
Queue, not archive
The category is built around a consumption workflow: save now, read later, archive when done. That differs from a bookmark manager (a permanent reference library) and from a save manager (which syncs a platform's native saves). Knowing which job you're hiring for prevents buying the wrong tool.
Where Reddit fits
Read-it-later apps treat a Reddit thread as a generic article, dropping the subreddit, score, and comment context — and none integrate with Reddit's save button. They pair well with, rather than replace, a Reddit-specific manager: curate in one, read long-form in the other.
