Bookmark Manager
A bookmark manager is an app that stores links you want to keep and adds the organization browsers lack: collections or folders, tags, full-text search, and export. Examples include Raindrop.io for general links and Readdit Later for Reddit saved posts specifically.
General vs specialized
General managers (like Raindrop.io) accept any URL and treat every save the same way. Specialized managers integrate with one platform's own saving system and preserve its context — a Reddit-specific manager knows about subreddits, scores, and post types, and can sync the saves you already made with Reddit's save button.
What separates good from bad
The test of a bookmark manager isn't saving — everything can save — it's retrieval. Search across content (not just titles), filters along dimensions you actually remember, and export that keeps your data yours are the features that matter after the first hundred links.
