Search Your Reddit Saved Comments

Reddit lets you save individual comments, not just posts. That brilliant debugging tip someone left in r/webdev, the recipe adjustment buried 14 replies deep, the career advice that resonated - you hit save, and it's supposed to be there when you need it. Except Reddit gives you no way to search your saved comments. The saved page is a flat chronological list mixing posts and comments together. There's no search bar, no filter for comments only, no way to narrow by subreddit, author, or topic. If you saved a comment six months ago, your only option is scrolling through every single saved item until you find it. With hundreds of saved items, that's functionally impossible.

Most Reddit tools ignore saved comments entirely. They focus on posts because posts have clear titles, URLs, and metadata. Comments are harder to work with: they don't have titles, they're nested inside threads, and their context depends on the parent post and surrounding replies. But for many users, comments contain the highest-value content. The post might ask a generic question, but the comment with 2,000 upvotes contains the specific, actionable answer. A recipe post might be fine, but the comment saying "swap the butter for brown butter and add a pinch of salt" is what actually makes the dish. Saved comments are where your most practical, specific knowledge lives.

Reddit's saved feature treats posts and comments as a single undifferentiated list with no search capability. There's no filter to show only comments, no way to search comment text, and no separate view for saved comments on any platform. This has been the case for the entire history of the feature. Third-party apps like Apollo (now discontinued) offered slightly better browsing of saved comments, but never full-text search. The gap exists because Reddit's development priorities are focused on the feed, advertising, and moderation - not on helping users retrieve content they've already consumed.
